I found your blog while doing a search for kunimoto takeshi, and have to tell you how happy I am to read about other designers! I’m doing a small, short presentation for a class (studying fashion) and I selected Japanese designers for my assignment. I wonder if you could tell me what fabrics Takeshi used? And Putomayo too, if you please? Thanks for blogging this! Oh, and I hope you had a great time at the “Secret” event!
I’m not quite sure as to the blend they used, but when I wear it it feels like Cotton or Linen-y. I have a shirt that is 50% cotton, 50% polyester. Sometimes Kunitomo-san re-uses Kimono fabric. You can try to Facebook Message Kunitomo-san, too. His English is very good.
As to Putomayo, again the fabric feels thin yet sturdy. One skirt I have is 100% Cotton shell, with 100% Polyester lining. One shirt I have is 95% cotton and 5% polyester.
